In these Terms and Conditions, the following definitions apply:
- "DataEdge" / "We" / "Us" refers to DataEdge Insights Ghana, the organisation that owns, develops, and delivers the YLIM Practitioner Certification Programme.
- "YLIM" refers to the Youth Leadership Impact Model, the intellectual property of DataEdge Insights Ghana.
- "Programme" refers to the YLIM Practitioner Certification, delivered online and in full as a self-paced course.
- "Participant" / "You" refers to any individual who submits an enrolment form and/or accesses the Programme.
- "Organisation" refers to the institution, company, NGO, or agency sponsoring or enrolling one or more Participants.
- "Certificate" refers to the DataEdge Insights Ghana YLIM Practitioner Certificate awarded upon successful completion of the Programme.
- "Trainer Licence" refers to the annual licence granted to certified facilitators permitting them to deliver YLIM content to third parties under DataEdge's framework.
- "Subscription" refers to the arrangement under which a Participant is granted access to the Programme for one Access Period per payment.
- "Subscription Fee" refers to the fee payable for each Access Period, as set out in the current pricing schedule.
- "Access Period" refers to the 30 days of access bought by each payment, starting on the day the payment is confirmed or, where a Participant renews early, on the day after their current Access Period ends.
2.1 Application Process
Enrolment in the Programme requires submission of a completed enrolment form. On enrolment, a personal access code is issued to the email address provided, which the Participant uses to sign in to the platform. Access to the course content opens once the first Subscription Fee is confirmed, which the Participant pays inside the platform after reading its introductory guide. Where an Organisation pays by invoice or purchase order, the course opens when the invoice is paid.
2.2 Eligibility
The Programme is open to individuals worldwide. There are no formal academic prerequisites. Participants are expected to have a working level of English and basic computer literacy sufficient to access online content and work with spreadsheet software.
2.3 Institutional Enrolment
Where an Organisation enrolls multiple Participants, the Organisation accepts these Terms on behalf of all enrolled individuals. The Organisation is responsible for ensuring each Participant receives, reads, and complies with these Terms.
2.4 Right to Decline
DataEdge reserves the right to decline any enrolment application at its sole discretion, including where the application is incomplete, payment is not received, or the applicant's stated purpose conflicts with the Programme's values. In the event of a declined application, any payment received will be refunded in full.
3.1 Fee Schedule
Access to the Programme is bought in Access Periods of 30 days. The current fee schedule is as follows:
- Programme Subscription: GHS 290 per Access Period of 30 days, per Participant
- Trainer Licence: GHS 2,000 per year (Facilitator track only). It may be added at enrolment, in which case the first payment is GHS 2,290 (the Subscription Fee plus the licence), or bought later inside the platform after certification.
All fees are quoted and charged in Ghana cedis (GHS). Payments made with a card issued outside Ghana are charged in cedis and converted by the card issuer at its own rate; any conversion or bank charges are the Participant's responsibility. The Trainer Licence is available on an annual basis only.
3.2 Payment Methods
Payments are made online through Paystack, a payment service provider, by Visa or Mastercard card or by mobile money (MTN MoMo, Telecel Cash or AirtelTigo Money). Card and wallet details are entered into Paystack's secure payment window and are never seen or stored by DataEdge. Organisations may instead pay by invoice or purchase order, by arrangement.
3.3 Access Periods
Each payment buys one Access Period of 30 days. Subscriptions do not renew automatically, and DataEdge holds no card or mobile money mandate: no payment is ever taken without the Participant starting it. A Participant may renew at any time from the platform sign-in page; renewing before the current Access Period ends adds 30 days to its end date, so no paid time is lost.
3.4 When an Access Period Ends
When an Access Period ends without renewal, platform access pauses until the Participant pays for a new Access Period. Progress, submissions, and any certificate already awarded are kept while access is paused, and are available again as soon as access resumes.
3.5 What the Subscription Includes
The Subscription Fee includes: full access to all course materials, the YLIM Excel workbook, the interactive HTML digital model, all assessments and quizzes, facilitator support, and the digital certificate upon successful completion. It does not include the Trainer Licensing Add-on, which is priced separately.
3.6 Stopping Your Subscription
Because Subscriptions do not renew automatically, there is nothing to cancel: to stop, a Participant simply does not renew. Access continues until the end of the Access Period already paid for. Unused days are not refunded. Any certificate already awarded remains valid.
3.7 Invoicing for Organisations
Organisations requiring a formal invoice or purchase order process should indicate this on the enrolment form. DataEdge can arrange consolidated invoicing where an Organisation sponsors several Participants.
4.1 Refund Schedule
A full refund of the first payment is available only within 7 days and only if no course content has been accessed. All other payments, including renewals, are non-refundable.
4.2 How to Request a Refund
Refund requests must be submitted in writing to dataedgeinsights@gmail.com with the subject line "Refund Request, [Your Full Name]". Requests must include your full name, enrolment date, Paystack payment reference (shown on your receipt email), and reason for withdrawal. Approved refunds are paid through Paystack to the card or mobile money wallet used, and a refunded payment ends the access it paid for. DataEdge will acknowledge your request within 3 working days and process any approved refund within 10 working days.
4.3 Transfer of Enrolment
As an alternative to a refund, Participants may transfer their Subscription to another individual within the same Organisation at no additional charge, provided the transfer is requested before the original Participant has accessed any content in Module 1. The Access Period is unchanged by a transfer. Transfer requests must be submitted in writing to DataEdge.
4.4 Trainer Licensing Add-on
The annual Trainer Licence fee of GHS 2,000 is non-refundable once the licence has been activated and training materials have been accessed. Where a licence has been purchased but not yet activated, a full refund may be requested within 14 days of payment. The licence fee is separate from the Subscription Fee and is not pro-rated.
4.5 Programme Withdrawal
If DataEdge withdraws the Programme, Participants are refunded for the unused days of their current Access Period and any unexpired Trainer Licence.
5.1 Access Period
Participants have access to the course platform and all associated materials during each paid Access Period.
5.2 Self-Paced Learning
The Programme is delivered entirely on a self-paced basis. There are no fixed schedules, mandatory live sessions, or cohort start dates. Participants may access content at any time while their Subscription is active.
5.3 Technical Requirements
Participants are responsible for ensuring they have the necessary equipment and internet connectivity to access the Programme. Minimum requirements include a computer or laptop, a modern web browser (Chrome, Firefox, or Edge), Microsoft Excel 2016 or later (or Google Sheets), and a stable internet connection. DataEdge is not liable for access issues arising from inadequate technical equipment on the part of the Participant.
5.4 Access Credentials
Course access details are issued to the email address provided at enrolment. Participants must not share access credentials with others. Each Subscription covers one individual's access only. Sharing credentials is a breach of these Terms and may result in access being revoked without refund.
5.5 Pausing a Subscription
Participants who are unable to continue for a period due to documented exceptional circumstances (such as serious illness or bereavement) may apply in writing to DataEdge to pause their Subscription for up to 3 months. The unused days of their current Access Period are held and added back when they return, and all saved progress is retained. Pauses are granted at DataEdge's sole discretion and are not guaranteed.
6.1 Completion Requirements
To be awarded the DataEdge Insights Ghana YLIM Practitioner Certificate, Participants must complete at least 80% of all course lessons, submit all required reflection tasks and exercises, pass the final assessment with a score of 70% or above, and (for the Facilitator track) pass the assessed teach-back submission.
6.2 Re-assessment
Participants who do not pass the final assessment on their first attempt may re-take it up to twice within 20 days at no additional charge. A third failed attempt will require the Participant to request re-assessment, which is available only while the Subscription remains active.
6.3 Certificate Validity
The YLIM Practitioner Certificate is issued in digital format and is valid indefinitely from the date of issue. Each certificate carries a unique Certificate ID that can be verified at www.dataedgeinsights.org.
6.4 Revocation of Certificate
DataEdge reserves the right to revoke a certificate where it is found that a Participant obtained it through dishonest means, including sharing answers or misrepresentation. Revocation will be communicated in writing and is final.
7.1 Ownership
All course content, materials, models, frameworks, tools, assessments, templates, and the YLIM framework itself are the exclusive intellectual property of DataEdge Insights Ghana. This includes but is not limited to the Excel model, all video content, written lessons, quiz questions, and branded materials.
7.2 Permitted Use
Participants are granted a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to access and use course materials solely for their own learning and professional development during the access period. Certified Participants (without a Trainer Licence) may apply YLIM within their own organisation's internal programmes.
7.3 Prohibited Use
Without a Trainer Licence, Participants may not: reproduce or distribute course materials to third parties; teach, train, or certify others using YLIM content; publish, sell, or sublicence any materials derived from the Programme; or represent themselves as authorised YLIM trainers or facilitators.
7.4 Attribution
Where Participants reference YLIM in publications, reports, or presentations, they must attribute the framework to DataEdge Insights Ghana and include the statement: "YLIM is a framework developed by DataEdge Insights Ghana."
8.1 Eligibility
The Trainer Licence is available exclusively to Participants who have completed the Facilitator Track of the Programme and been awarded a certificate. The licence is not available to Participants on the Institutional or Programme Manager tracks unless they subsequently complete the Facilitator track.
8.2 Licence Scope
A Trainer Licence grants the holder the right to deliver YLIM-based training to external participants under the DataEdge brand framework, charge fees for such delivery, and use DataEdge-approved training materials provided with the licence. It does not grant the right to modify the core YLIM methodology, issue certificates on behalf of DataEdge, or sub-licence to other trainers.
8.3 Annual Renewal
The Trainer Licence is valid for 12 months from the date of payment, whether it is paid together with the first Subscription Fee at enrolment or later inside the certification platform, at the published rate (currently GHS 2,000 per year). It does not renew automatically: to continue, the holder pays for a further year, which is added to the end of the current licence. A lapsed licence may not be used, and delivery of YLIM training with a lapsed licence is a breach of these Terms.
8.4 Quality Standards
Licensed trainers are required to maintain the quality and integrity of YLIM delivery. DataEdge reserves the right to audit or observe training delivered under licence and to withdraw the licence where delivery is found to be materially inconsistent with the YLIM framework or DataEdge's standards.
Participants agree to engage with the Programme honestly and in good faith. The following constitute breaches of these Terms and may result in immediate removal from the Programme without refund:
- Sharing quiz answers, assessment responses, or course materials with others
- Submitting work that is not the Participant's own
- Misrepresenting qualifications, experience, or institutional affiliation on the enrolment form
- Harassing, threatening, or acting disrespectfully toward DataEdge staff
- Using course materials for commercial purposes without a Trainer Licence
- Attempting to reverse-engineer, copy, or replicate the YLIM model or digital tools
9.1 Platform Credentials
Learners may not share login credentials with others or allow third parties to complete course activities on their behalf. Each Subscription covers one individual's access only. Any breach of this clause will result in immediate revocation of access without refund and, where applicable, revocation of any certificate issued.
9.2 Respectful Engagement
Harassment, discrimination, or abuse directed at other learners, DataEdge staff, or platform administrators is prohibited and will result in immediate removal from the Programme without refund. This includes conduct via the platform, email, or any other communication channel.
DataEdge reserves the right to determine what constitutes a breach and to act accordingly. Such decisions are final.
10.1 Programme Availability
While DataEdge will make reasonable efforts to ensure continuous availability of the course platform, it does not guarantee uninterrupted access. Scheduled maintenance will be communicated in advance where possible. DataEdge is not liable for access disruptions caused by third-party services, internet outages, or force majeure events.
10.2 Limit of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, DataEdge's total liability to any Participant for any claim arising from or related to the Programme shall not exceed the total Subscription Fees paid by that Participant in the 12 months preceding the claim. DataEdge shall not be liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental loss of any kind.
10.3 Accuracy of Content
Course content reflects DataEdge's best knowledge and practice at the time of publication.
11.1 Data Collected
By enrolling, Participants consent to DataEdge collecting and processing the personal information provided on the enrolment form, including name, email address, phone number, country, and organisational details. This data is used solely for the purposes of administering the Programme, issuing receipts, invoices and certificates, and communicating with Participants about the Programme and related DataEdge offerings.
11.2 Right to Erasure
Participants may request deletion of their personal data at any time by contacting DataEdge in writing. Note that certificate records may be retained for verification purposes even following a deletion request.
DataEdge reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Material changes are emailed to enrolled Participants at least 14 days before they take effect.
The most current version of these Terms will always be available at www.dataedgeinsights.org. Participants are encouraged to check periodically for updates.
13.1 Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Ghana. Any disputes arising from or in connection with the Programme shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ghana.
13.2 Dispute Resolution
Before initiating any formal legal proceedings, Participants agree to first contact DataEdge in writing to attempt to resolve the dispute amicably. DataEdge will respond to all written complaints within 10 working days and make reasonable efforts to reach a fair resolution.
13.3 Severability
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in force.
