These tools are built and run by DataEdge Insights Ghana. The short version of what follows:
This summary is for orientation only. The numbered sections below are the terms that apply.
The Digital Tool Suite is provided by DataEdge Insights Ghana, a research and evaluation practice registered in Ghana ("we", "us", "our"). You can reach us at dataedgeinsights@gmail.com, or by telephone and WhatsApp on +233 53 166 7123.
These terms govern your use of the five tools listed in Section 2, whether you use them free of charge or by subscription. By registering for, opening, or using any tool, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the tools.
Where you use a tool in the course of your employment or on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to accept these terms on that organisation's behalf, and "you" means both you and that organisation.
Suite means the Digital Tool Suite as a whole. Tool means any one of: the DataEdge Report Reviewer, the DataEdge Evaluation Workbench, the DataEdge Lecture Studio, DataEdge Course Studio: NVivo 15, and the DataEdge Workplan Tracker.
Access Code means the code we issue after approving a registration, which opens the free portion of a Tool. Subscription Code means the code we issue after confirming payment, which opens the paid portion for one month. Your Content means anything you type, paste, upload, import, or generate using a Tool.
You must be at least 18 years old to register. The Tools are built for professional and academic use.
Registration is free. You submit your name, email address, country, and a short statement of why you need the Tool. We review each request individually rather than approving it automatically. We aim to respond within one to two business days but do not guarantee that timeframe.
We may decline a registration, and we are not obliged to give reasons. Registration is a permission to use a Tool, not a contract to provide it indefinitely.
You must give accurate details. We may refuse or withdraw access where the details given are false, where an institutional email is used without authority, or where a single registration is being used by several people.
Access Codes and Subscription Codes are issued to you personally and are not transferable. You may not share, publish, resell, or lend a code, and you may not pool one code across a team. Institutional or team access is available by arrangement; write to us.
A code is stored in the browser where you enter it, so you are not asked for it again on that browser. It is not stored on our servers in a form tied to your session. Clearing your browser data, using a different browser or device, or using the Tool's reset control will require you to enter the code again.
We may change or revoke a code where these terms are breached, where a code has been shared, or where a payment is reversed or cannot be confirmed.
Four Tools have a paid element. Prices are stated in US dollars and are current as at the effective date of these terms:
| Tool | Price | What the subscription adds to free registration |
|---|---|---|
| DataEdge Report Reviewer | US$7 per month | Document analysis, and the Word and PDF exports |
| DataEdge Evaluation Workbench | US$35 per month (Base) US$40 per month (Plus) | Base opens everything after the Theory of Change stage. Plus additionally allows downloading and exporting the final report. |
| DataEdge Lecture Studio | US$25 per month | Review & Generate, and the Studio |
| DataEdge Course Studio: NVivo 15 | US$10 per month | Core Skills onward. The Foundations track remains free on registration. |
| DataEdge Workplan Tracker | Free | No paid element. An email address is requested when you download a file. |
Payment is made by Telecel Cash to the number shown inside the Tool. You then submit your name, email, and the payment reference or transaction ID. We confirm the payment against our own records manually and issue a Subscription Code by email, normally within one to two business days.
Subscriptions do not renew automatically. We hold no card or mobile-money mandate and cannot take a payment without you initiating it. A Subscription Code runs for one month from the date issued. To continue, you pay again and we issue a new code.
You are responsible for any charges your mobile money provider applies, for any currency conversion, and for any taxes or duties payable in your own country. Prices may change; a change does not affect a Subscription Code already issued, and we will show the new price on the Suite page before it applies.
Because access is granted only after we confirm payment, and because a subscription lasts a fixed month with no automatic renewal, there is nothing to cancel. Simply do not pay again.
We will refund a payment in full where we are unable to issue a Subscription Code, where a Tool's paid features do not work for reasons within our control and we cannot resolve the problem within 7 days of you telling us, or where you paid twice for the same month in error.
We do not refund part-months, unused time, a change of mind after a code has been issued and used, or an inability to use a Tool for reasons on your side, including an unsupported browser, no internet access, or a device you no longer have.
Refund requests go to dataedgeinsights@gmail.com with your payment reference.
You may use the Tools for your own professional, academic, or organisational work, including work you are paid to do for a client. You may not:
The Tools run inside your browser. As a general rule, what you type, paste, or upload stays on your own device: it is held in your browser's local storage and is not transmitted to us. We cannot see your drafts, your evaluation data, your transcripts, or your workplans.
There are specific exceptions, and you should read them before putting confidential material into a Tool. The following table states what leaves your device, and to whom.
| Tool | Stays on your device | Leaves your device |
|---|---|---|
| Report Reviewer | Your draft, the analysis, saved review history, and any photographs you attach. Documents you upload are read in the browser. | Only your registration details and payment reference, which go to our verification backend. Your draft is never transmitted. |
| Evaluation Workbench | Assignment setup, theory of change, ratings, indicators, qualitative and quantitative entries, references, and report drafts. | Registration and payment details. In addition, where you use an AI-assisted drafting feature, the text needed for that request is sent to our AI processing provider. Where you connect Google Drive, the material you choose is sent to Google under your own Google account. |
| Lecture Studio | Your syllabus and reading text, generated objectives, slides, notes, drafts, and the session archive. | Registration and payment details. When you generate a session, the syllabus and reading text needed for the request are sent to our processing endpoint and on to our AI provider. Documents you upload are read inside your browser and are not transmitted anywhere by the upload itself. |
| Course Studio: NVivo 15 | Your module progress and quiz answers. | Only registration and payment details. No course work or notes are transmitted. |
| Workplan Tracker | Your workplan, for the duration of the browser session. | The email address you enter when downloading a file, which is logged so we know who is using the Tool. |
You keep all rights in Your Content. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of your material to us, and we do not use Your Content to train models or for any purpose of our own.
You are responsible for making your own copies. The Tools are not a backup service, and browser storage can be cleared by you, by your browser, or by your device's own housekeeping.
The personal data we collect about you is limited to what you submit on registration and payment: your name, email address, country, stated purpose, and payment reference. We hold it to decide on your request, to issue and verify codes, and to keep a record of who has access. It is stored in our own records, which are held on Google's services under our account. We do not sell it and we do not use it for marketing.
We keep these records for as long as you hold access and for a reasonable period afterwards for accounting and audit purposes. You may ask us to tell you what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, by writing to dataedgeinsights@gmail.com. Deleting your registration record will end your access.
We handle personal data in line with the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) of Ghana.
Where you put other people's personal data into a Tool, for example interview transcripts, beneficiary lists, or staff names in a workplan, you remain the controller of that data and we do not become a processor of it, because it does not reach us. It is your responsibility to have a lawful basis for using it, to comply with any consent, confidentiality, or ethics conditions attached to it, and to comply with any agreement you have with the client who commissioned the work. Where a Tool sends text to an AI provider, as set out in Section 8, satisfy yourself first that you are permitted to do so, and remove or pseudonymise identifying details where you are not.
The Report Reviewer performs a structural check. It looks for the presence of expected sections using keyword and pattern matching, and rebuilds your draft in the standard order for the report type you select, inserting prompts where a section appears to be missing.
It is not a substantive review. It does not assess whether your report is accurate, well argued, methodologically sound, or compliant with a particular donor or institutional template. A section may be reported as missing when it is present in wording the Tool did not recognise, and content may be assigned to the wrong section. The completeness percentage is an indicator, not a grade.
You must read the restructured output before using it. Your original wording is preserved but may be reordered, and you remain responsible for the final document.
The Workbench is a workspace that helps you organise and record an evaluation. It supports work against the OECD-DAC evaluation criteria but is not endorsed by, affiliated with, or certified by the OECD, its Development Assistance Committee, or any other standard-setting body. Using the Tool does not make an evaluation compliant with any standard.
All ratings, findings, conclusions, and recommendations are your own professional judgment. Where the Tool drafts narrative text, that draft is a starting point to be verified, edited, and evidenced by you. You are responsible for the integrity of the evaluation and for any statement you publish from it.
The Plus tier differs from Base only in allowing the final report to be downloaded or exported. Both tiers give the same analytical features.
The Lecture Studio generates teaching material from documents you supply. Generated content, including learning objectives, slide text, lecture notes, and any references or citations produced, may contain errors, may misattribute sources, and may cite work that does not exist. Check every citation against the source before teaching or publishing from it.
Documents are read inside your browser. A pasted link is fetched directly by your browser or not at all, so many links will simply fail and the file must be uploaded instead; no third-party relay is involved.
You must have the right to upload the material you supply. Uploading a copyrighted reading, a publisher's PDF, or a colleague's course document may breach the licence under which you hold it, and that is your responsibility, not ours. Mapping to Bloom's taxonomy levels is an aid to drafting, not an authoritative classification.
Generated material is yours to use in your teaching. We ask no rights over it and claim no authorship of it.
This is independent teaching material about NVivo 15. It is not affiliated with, authorised by, endorsed by, or sponsored by Lumivero or any of its affiliates. NVivo is a registered trademark of Lumivero and is used here only to identify the software the course teaches.
Your subscription buys access to the course. It does not include an NVivo licence. You need your own licensed copy of NVivo to complete the practice tasks, and obtaining one is your responsibility and expense. Software changes: screens and menu paths shown in the course may differ from the version you are running.
The course does not confer a qualification, certification, or credential, and we do not issue certificates of completion unless separately agreed. Progress is recorded in your browser only, so clearing browser data will lose it.
The Workplan Tracker is provided free of charge. There is no registration and no subscription. An email address is requested at the point of download, and by submitting it you agree to our recording it.
The Tool performs arithmetic on figures you enter, including budget totals and completion percentages. Check these figures before relying on them for a report to a board, a funder, or an auditor. Budget fields are unit-agnostic and no currency conversion is performed.
As set out in Section 8, your work is not saved automatically. Because the Tool is free, our liability in relation to it is limited to the fullest extent the law allows.
The Tools, including their code, structure, wording, templates, checklists, course content, design, and the DataEdge Insights Ghana name and logo, are owned by us or licensed to us and are protected by copyright and other rights. Registration or subscription gives you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Tools as described in these terms. It transfers nothing else.
The fact that a Tool's source is readable in your browser does not grant you any licence to copy, adapt, or redistribute it.
Output you generate using a Tool from your own inputs is yours, subject to the rights of any third party whose material you supplied.
The Tools rely on services we do not control, including Google (Apps Script, Sheets, Fonts and, where you choose to connect it, Drive), our AI processing provider, and Telecel for mobile money payments. Their availability and their own terms are outside our control, and a fault or change in any of them may stop a feature working.
NVivo is a registered trademark of Lumivero. Telecel is a trademark of its owner. Google, Google Drive, and Google Sheets are trademarks of Google LLC. Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are trademarks of Microsoft Corporation. All are used here for identification only, and no association or endorsement is implied.
The Tools are aids to professional work. They do not provide evaluation, research, statistical, legal, financial, or academic advice, and they do not substitute for your own expertise, your institution's requirements, or an independent review. Any output requires your verification before use.
The Tools are provided as is and as available. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties, conditions, and representations not expressly set out in these terms, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or uninterrupted availability. We do not warrant that a Tool is free of errors, that its output is accurate or complete, or that it will meet a particular institutional or donor requirement.
We may change, improve, suspend, or withdraw any Tool or feature, and may change these prices, at any time. Where we withdraw a paid Tool entirely, and you hold a current Subscription Code for it, we will refund the unexpired part of that month.
The Tools require a current browser. They may not work in older browsers, in private or restricted browsing modes, where local storage is disabled, or on a managed device whose policies block the features they rely on. Because your work is stored in your own browser, we cannot recover it if it is lost, and we do not hold a copy.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Subject to that, and to the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:
Our total liability to you in connection with a Tool, in contract, tort, or otherwise, is limited to the amount you paid us for that Tool in the three months before the claim arose.
You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your breach of these terms, from content you submitted that you had no right to submit, or from your use of a Tool's output in breach of an obligation you owe someone else, including a client confidentiality clause or a research ethics condition.
We may suspend or end your access immediately where you breach these terms, where a code has been shared or published, where a payment cannot be confirmed or is reversed, or where use of a Tool threatens the security or integrity of our systems.
You may stop using the Tools at any time. To remove what is held on your device, use the Tool's reset control or clear your browser data; to have your registration record deleted, write to us. Sections 8, 9, 11, 15, 16, and 19 survive the end of your access.
We may update these terms. The version number and effective date at the top of this page will change, and the current version always governs your use from its effective date. Where a change materially reduces what you receive under a current Subscription Code, we will tell subscribers by email. Continuing to use a Tool after a change takes effect means you accept the revised terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana. Before starting proceedings, both parties will try in good faith to resolve any dispute by discussion, and either may propose mediation in Accra. Failing resolution, the courts of Ghana have exclusive jurisdiction.
If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues in force.

For access requests, use the registration form inside the Tool rather than email, so your details reach the right place.
Recording your decision here is for your own reference. It is kept in this browser only and is not sent to us. The agreement that counts is the one you give when you register inside a tool, which is recorded with your registration.
